Porterville Police Department Recommedations:
*Parents have rights to their children's phone. Get the phone- know the passwords, check social media, texts, etc.
*Talk to their children about threats, etc and how to respond when they have information.
*See threatening posts? Report ALL to police/schools immediately (let them determine if real/fake) - DON'T repost- forward - share - If you know the person posting report their information
*Warn their children about making threats: Fake threats treated same as real - Arrested, Booked, Charged (zero tolerance)
*Internet use can be tracked
